Barents environment on the agenda
Solutions to ecological problems of the Barents Region will be one of the main issues for dicussions when young environmentalist of the Barents Region gather in Arkhangelsk on the 1st and 2nd of November.
During the two days forum in Arkhangelsk, participants and experts will exchange their experience and try to find solutions to ecological problems of Barents Euro-Arctic region.
The "IV International Youth Forum" will gather ecological and public activists of Barents region, volunteers, students and teachers, school teachers, experts and journalists, and participants from Aetas and their Norwegian partner “Natur og Ungdom”. On the first day leading Russian experts on domestic waste and environmental protection will offer workshops, among them: Leader of social movement “NoMoreGarbage” Denis Stark, expert of coalition “PRO Othody” and Center of resource saving (Moscow) Alina Koljovska, coordinator of movement “Waste sorting” (St. Petersburg) Sofia Klimiva and chief executive of Bellona center Nikolay Rybakov (St. Petersburg).
Second day is planned for group working. First group will work with presentation of school course within “Forest. Climate. Youth” project. Also participants will discuss cooperation possibilities with school teachers and pupils.
The second group will discuss best social projects on waste sorting promotion in Russian regions. Arkhangelsk businessmen and city authorities will also take part in discussion. As the result, participants will introduce the nearest and most realizable activities to promote life without waste and work out program on waste sorting in Arkhangelsk, activity plan and its practical implementation.
IV International Youth Forum is supported by Norwegian Barents Secretariat, the Ministry for Youth and Sport affairs of Arkhangelsk region and the Regional Youth center.
