Stoltenberg: -Very competent Barents Secretariat

The Norwegian Prime Minister says the government will continue its close cooperation with the Barents Secretariat.

Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg writes in a letter to the head of the Norwegian Barents Secretariat Rune Rafaelsen about the new opportunities following the maritime delimitation deal between Russia and Norway.

The delimitation deal in the Barents Sea makes it possible to further develop the good cooperation in the border area with Russia.

- We will continue to employ the experiences and competence from the Barents Secretariat, Stoltenberg writes and continues:

- The (delimitation) agreement will become important for the population in the north, the Barents cooperation and regional interaction. We are therefore looking forward to a continued near cooperation with you and the very competent secretariat you are a manager for, the Prime Minister writes in his letter to Rune Rafaelsen.
