The applicant organisation ICR, together with WRH, the Russian Centre for Reindeer Herding Development, Gourmand International, UArctic partners and others, will arrange the 1st Arctic Indigenous Peoples´ Food Congress March 5-10, 2020 in the Kautokeino Sports Hall, with indigenous youth, indigenous representatives and businesses from Barents and the Arctic, some of the best chefs in the world, and with a core focus on Arctic indigenous peoples´ food cultures, food innovation and food empowerment. This is a novel approach to ongoing rapid and profound Arctic change, seeking to build the economic base of Arctic indigenous peoples and make an opportunity of a changing Arctic an opportunity for all.
