Dark Ecology (2014-2017) highlights the recently established Norwegian-Russian visa-free border-zone through the commissioning of new site-responsive artworks presented in three public journeys, each within an extended artistic and discursive programme. Organized by Sonic Acts (Amsterdam) and Hilde Methi (Kirkenes) in cooperation with Russian, Norwegian and European partners, Dark Ecology is an international meeting place for new art which stimulates collaboration, critical reflection and creative impulses within the artistic community of the Barents Region and beyond.
